Gogo Manqoyi, Eastern Cape World Cup strategic manager, identified the bank as First National Bank - which is one of the Fifa official partners for the tournament.
"They are helping us at the Rotary Stadium in Ngangelizwe where they will fund the project of erecting artificial turf," Manqoyi said.
"It is one of the oldest stadiums in the township with a 15 000 seating capacity. We are excited that the facility will also get a facelift.
"Erecting the artificial turf will start early next year. It is good because Fifa has started introducing it with its Goal Project in most of the African countries. The Eastern Cape provincial government has already started with renovations at the stadium so that we can also have professional soccer taking place."
As part of their preparations for the World Cup, Eastern Cape will build a new stadium in Mthatha to be used as a training facility ahead of the tournament.
Plans are also at an advanced stage to use East London as a training base, considering that Confederations Cup and World Cup matches will be played in Port Elizabeth.
