Majimbos are out to register a second consecutive Cosafa Under-17 Cup win at the expense of Mauritius in Windhoek, Namibia, today.

This comes after the South African Under-17s got their tournament off to a flying start when they thumped Lesotho 5-0 on Saturday.

Scorers were Speedy Mabaso (brace), Sheldon Stevens, Mzu Skhosana and Lebogang Moloto.

It was Teboho "Tebza Ngwana" Moloi's first official game since he was appointed new Majimbos coach by the South African Football Association two weeks ago.

South Africa, who have selected a brand new team for this tournament, also have Mauritius' neighbours, Madagascar, in their group.

David Nhlabathi, the team's head of delegation, said: "It was a well deserved win and the boys made us proud here in Namibia.

"I'm quite impressed by the level of commitment in the team, the youngsters have promised us that they won't let us down.

"We are well prepared for the game against Mauritius, I have no doubt that the boys will deliver on their promise if we play like we did on Saturday in all the games.

"It will be suicidal to underestimate anybody," said Nhlabathi, who is also the president of Safa's Gauteng East region.

Moloi and his assistant Solly Luvhengo could not be reached for comment as they were reportedly still busy with a training session at the time of going to press.

Prior to their departure last Thursday, Moloi said their plan was to do well in this tournament to lay a foundation for the next African Under-17 Championships qualifiers.
