Sports management company P Management has registered to participate in the yearly Soweto Football Association Walter Sisulu Discovery Soccer Challenge.

The tournament started at Safa Pimville-Klipsruit Development Centre on Saturday with the finals scheduled for December 29.

The sports management company's football club will play their first game against Mike Ntombela's Senaone Gunners on Wednesday night.

Nhlanhla Nkosi, a spokesman for the company, said their team is coached by legends Albert "Bashin" Mahlangu and Ernest "Botsotso" Makhanya.

"We have a number of youngsters in our stable who do not have clubs. We are using the tournament to keep them in great shape," said Nkosi.

"Some of the youngsters in our stable include Trevor Sithole, Thabiso Mohlaleng, Sifiso Mdebele, Brighty Madonsela and Harry Spandeel."

Mahlangu, Makhanya and Teboho Moloi, who is in Namibia with Majimbos for the Cosafa Under-17 Tournament, are part of the sports management company.

The trio have been conducted coaching clinics in various parts of Gauteng and plan to spread to other provinces in the new year.

"We are happy with the response we are getting from the community, it has been a great one and encourages us to do more in terms of developing the sport," said Nkosi.

The management company has launched its own website, www.pmanagement.co.za, to inform the public about the programmes and vision.

Meanwhile, Phil "Chippa" Mogodi, Safa Soweto chairman, said a total of 40 senior teams have registered for the tournament.

"We have 16 Under-17 clubs and 12 for the women's category. The games will be played every day, except for Christmas Day, until December 29."
