Respected boxing mentor Welcome Ncita must put his personal differences with promoter Mzimase Mnguni aside and apply his mind purely to boxing on Sunday.
Then maybe his charge Mangisa Dyantyi could spring a surprise by ending the reign of Mnguni's fighter Zolile Mbityi who defends the South Africa junior bantamweight belt at Mdantsane Indoor Centre on Sunday.
Ncita was Mnguni's hot prospect. Ncita won the IBF junior featherweight title and defended it six times under Mnguni's mentorship.
It's unclear what went wrong between them. They are sworn enemies. Victory for Dyantyi will enable Ncita an opportunity to show Mnguni the middle finger.
But Mnguni no longer trains fighters. Retired former IBF junior featherweight king Vuyani "The Beast" Bungu is the man who does that job now at Mnguni's famous Eyethu gym.
