Nigeria has cancelled a million dollar contract with Siemens and banned it from bidding for other contracts until the end of a graft probe into the German company.

The contract, worth about R6,8million, was to supply power transmission maintenance equipment, said government spokesman, John Odey.

He cited a corruption probe into Sie-mens as the reason for the cancellation, saying corrupt practices "are at variance with the laws and norms of this administration". - Reuters
