Inexperienced Santos are determined to give Kaizer Chiefs the shock of their lives when they meet in an Absa Premiership game at Athlone stadium on Sunday at 5.30pm.

The People's Team have not been doing well since the league programme started, but last weekend they managed to register their first win at home against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Team manager Yusuf Gester said last week's win had motivated them and they were looking for another scalp at home.

"The morale is high among the players," he said.

"Meeting Chiefs is a motivation in its own. The guys are determined to match the Telkom Knockout champions pound for pound."

Amakhosi team manager Bobby "Bobsteak" Motaung, said: "We can't underrate Santos, the team that beat us 3-1 last season. They are a tricky lot with young players."

Motaung appealed to the club's followers to be patient and promised that they would bounce back with a big bang.

Chiefs hope the injured Shaun Bartlett and Thabo Mooki will pass a late fitness test.
