A potential thriller is confirmed for Phalaborwa when FC AK confront Dynamos in a top-of-the-table National First Division (NFD) Inland Stream clash tomorrow.

The highly anticipated duel takes place at Lulekani Stadium, starting at 3pm.

The outcome of this encounter will give those who have been following the NFD an early indication of who between the two Inland Stream giants should qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season.

Bahumi are perched at the summit of the table with 17 points from eight matches, while the Dynamites are second on 15 points from the same number of outings.

The two rivals, who have only lost one match this term, are expected to go for the jugular for a win after they dropped two valuable points from their respective drawn matches last weekend.

But Dynamos believe they need the points more.

"We are second on the log and they are on top so we want to overtake them on the log and what a perfect time to achieve this at home," July Malabela, Dynamos' chairman, said yesterday.

"We have everybody available for the match and I don't see us failing to bring FC AK down to earth on Saturday."

Joseph Mthombeni, Rodney "Danger" Thobejane and Nicholas Mkhabela have a crucial role to play for the hosts.

FC AK have bolstered their midfield with Rafique Hassim joining them last week.

Hassim returned to South Africa from the United States in August after a season spell with Major League Soccer club Atlanta Silverbacks.

He made 17 appearances for Silverbacks and scored four goals but had to return home due to family obligations.

"We are not going to Lulekani for a holiday but to fight for the three points," Gene Petersen, FC AK manager, warned yesterday.
