Wealthy Free State businessman Mohloyoa "Blacky" Seoe has just obtained a boxing promoter's licence.

But already Seoe has promised to wreak havoc in the local fight game. He will operate under the banner of Robs Boxing Promotions (RBP) and has backed his promises this week by signing eight top boxers.

They will not only fight under his banner but will also be sponsored by this new-found messiah of black fighters.

His fighters are William "Dynamite" Gare, the vastly experienced SA super middleweight champion; Bongani "Cyclones" Mwelase, who was recently crowned SA and WBC International welterweight champion; Tshepang Mohale, Bongani Mahlangu and Gideon Buthelezi (all champions in the Baby Champs 2005 edition); Nelson Mtshali and Bongani Dlamini (finalists in this year's development programme).

Seoe also added Tshifhiwa Munyai to his stable.

Munyai, whose skills are perfected by Rob MacLeod, is the former Commonwealth bantamweight titleholder. He vacated it this week after posting a unanimous points decision win over Abdul Tebazalwa in the UK.

Munyai has a contract with Frank Maloney but MacLeod said the British promoter saw nothing wrong with the move.

Gare, the gentle giant of local boxing who is trained by the grossly underrated Jerry Phukuje, had been with Peoples Promotion, which he said gave him their blessing to join Seoe.

Gare only wished that he "had the luxury of a promoter that had my interests at heart" when he was younger.

Six of the fighters are the young lions under the tutelage of Johnny du Plooy.

Mwelase, who graduated to big time boxing by winning both the national and international belts from Lucky Lewele, said Seoe's actions showed that people still love boxing.

"Who would not want to work with Mwelase?" he asked, tongue in cheek. "I am a reve- lation and an incredible boxer."

Seoe's first signing was WBF lightweight champion Mlungisi "The Shark" Dlamini a month ago. Generally all the fighters saw Seoe as a godsend to black boxers, especially those that did not have a promoter with fighters' interests at heart.

Black boxers often earn far less than their white counterparts but Seoe promised to change the meagre purses..
