This is nothing personal, but the way the president treated the people who challenged him as well as his friends, shows that he is not presidential material.
We need new strategic ideas to improve the lives of all poor South Africans, as opposed to new friends and enemies of our president. I also wish to suggest that we have two presidents rather than one. The reason is that most of the potential and capable presidential candidates are not strong enough to run a country like South Africa.
Our president has done good things on what he delivered, but he has run out of new, good ideas and it is a concern to allow him a third term.
Jacob Zuma said he started politics at the age of 17. I don't think that is the criteria we should use to determine whether a candidate is suitable for the presidency. All we need is to alleviate poverty and create jobs.
While politicians are concerned about who will be president in 2009, I am concerned about poverty, crime, HIV-Aids and unemployment.
