Wind provides the force or energy to start a wave. It blows the surface layers of the sea, gradually forming a rolling movement of waves. As the waves near the coast, the sea bed interrupts their movement and they break onto the beach. The water inside the wave moves round and round in a circle. Near the shore, the circular shape of the wave becomes squashed. The top of the wave then becomes unstable and spills over as it hits the beach. Tell Me When?, Chancellor Press
