Mpho Mathibela, the surviving sister of South Africa's famous conjoined twins, will celebrate her 21st birthday this week.

The twins, from Klerksdorp in North West, were joined by their heads when they were born.

Sadly, Mphonyana died in 1990.

Community worker Maggie Nkwe is among the prominent leaders who are organising the party in Klerksdorp over three days, starting tomorrow.

"We are starting with a prayer service tomorrow at 12pm," Nkwe said.

"Then on Friday morning, we will have a prayer service at the graveside of Mphonyana, and then on the same evening we will have a fitting banquet for Mpho."

Nkwe said disabled and orphaned children would attend.
