Journalists who attended the Ekurhuleni Half-Marathon on Sunday were frustrated when the organisers of the race failed to furnish them with the winning times.
The scribes were left with no option but to leave the venue without getting the results of the 10km and half-marathon races.
Attempts to get comment from the organisers drew a blank after the event on Sunday and it was the same story yesterday.
It appears Central Gauteng Athletics needs to seriously attend to such issues as they give the sport a bad name in the public eye.
Mandla Radebe, Central Gauteng Athletics' manager, said yesterday they would investigate the matter.
"We normally encourage clubs to finalise the results within 30 minutes after the completion of the event.
"We will call the organisers to find out what really happened,'' Radebe said.
The men's half-marathon was won by Tshidiso Bosiu from Gauteng Striders, followed by Leburu Kgosiemang and Ntembeko Mtintso.
Striders' Dimakatso Menong took the laurels in the women's section.
