The resolution was made at a two-day indaba of its national executive committee (NEC) in Johannesburg .

"As we march to Polokwane, the NEC calls on all Sadtu members who are members of the ANC to work tirelessly in their branches to implement the Congress of South African Trade Unions' (Cosatu's) political resolution(s)...," it said.

This involoved, in particular, supporting Zuma and the other candidates recommended by Cosatu, it said.

It also involved confirming support "for the progressive policies recommended at the policy conference" and "the reconfiguration of the alliance and an alliance pact that prioritises the interests of the working class and the poor", Sadtu said. - Sapa
