I am very disappointed with the ANC. There would not have been a succession battle if the organisation had planned properly and groomed a leader to succeed the president.

The leadership is obsessed with enriching itself rather than serving the nation.

I applaud those who fought for freedom because they never wanted glory, and respected their leaders. But today's leaders are marred by scandals and illegal activities. Service delivery is about personal enrichment at the expense of the poor. Municipal and government officials behave like children who have no parents. This is as a result of conflict among leaders.

I do not have any problem with people voicing their choices, but those in nomination positions have not only thought of the leadership, but also about cabinet posts for themselves. I am yet to see someone in the ANC stand up and say our country does not deserve what is happening to it. We cannot allow our leaders to be at each other's throats for positions.

They have an obligation to serve the country. The ANC should identify a leader who will serve the organisation and steer the country to greater heights. Let us free our souls from hatred and anger. May common sense prevail.
