Battling Platinum Stars intend returning to their winning ways at the expense of high-riding Ajax Cape Town at Mmabatho Stadium on Sunday at 3.30pm.

The enterprising Urban Warriors have been consistent in topping the Absa Premiership log with 23 points from 10 games.

The Tycoons - who are struggling since the departure of coach Owen da Gama to Orlando Pirates - are 12th with 10 points from 10 games.

However, Stars' manager Thamaga Mokgophi warned Ajax to stop dreaming about grabbing three more points to consolidate their lead.

"Ajax have been playing well this season and it is not surprising that they have been holding on to the top for quite some time," Mokgophi said.

"Our appeal to the authorities is to give us a fair referee. I have no doubt that we will bring Ajax down to their knees because we have a great team to deal with any side.

'The most important thing that we need to start doing as a matter of urgency is to start converting our chances into goals."

Ajax's spokesman Thabiso "Shooz" Mekuto said: "It will be very tough. It is always difficult to play against struggling sides in their own back yard.

"If we can end 2007 with 30 points in the bag, we would have achieved our mission. The campaign to add the points starts with Stars. It will be an interesting situation in our camp with the return of Nazier Allie and Clifford "Robot" Ngobeni from injuries."
