Soccer legend Teboho "Tebza Ngwana" Moloi, who works for Orlando Pirates as a development coach, will officially start his new job as coach of Majimbos tomorrow.
The South African Under-17 national soccer team will assemble in Johannesburg to prepare for the revived Cosafa Under-17 Tournament scheduled for Namibia. It will start on December 8.
Majimbos will leave for neighbouring Namibia on December 6 after a four-day training camp at a school in Braamfontein.
Moloi was appointed new coach by Safa's technical committee, a structure entrusted with the hiring of national coaches.
Attempts by Sowetan to get comment from Moloi were unsuccessful because he is scouting for players at the Safa Under-17 tournament in the Vaal.
Moloi will be assisted by Solly "Homeboy" Luvhengo, who has served as an assistant coach of the same team in the past eight years.
Luvhengo, who works for SuperSport United Academy, has worked under Serame Letsoaka and Doctor Khumalo at Majimbos.
There was a speculation in August that Luvhengo would be given the job, but it seems the technical committee had other things in mind.
Sowetan has also learnt that Luvhengo will also be employed by Safa as Under-17 coach at the Transnet Football School of Excellence.
The Namibia-bound team is: Sherwin Naicker, Kwena Morulane, Doctor Mampuru, Siyabonga Mkhwanazi, Tshepo Gumede, Samuel Mafahle, Mbongeni Gumede, Mzuvele Skhosana, Lebohang Moloto, Xolani Mdaki, Bongani Mahlangu, Khulekani Khumalo, Lehlohonolo Mafalefa, Serame Matalingoane, Kamogelo Mokotjo, Cyril Mashego, Justice Nozozo, Fezile Billie, Sheldon Stevens and Speedy Mabaso.
