Joubert was born in Bloemfontein on September 17, 1951, and spent the greatest part of her athletics career in Pretoria, representing Northern Transvaal and Pretoria University.
Joubert won the 100m hurdles at the South African Championships in 1972 and 1973. She set no less than eight national records between 1969 and 1974.
She competed mainly in the days before electronic times and lowered the South African record from 14,8 sec in 1969 to 13,4 sec in 1973.
The latter was also an African record.
She was coached among others by Eugene Short and Dusan Andrin.
She was 56 and is survived by her son. - Sapa
