Santos have never won an official match at home this season and their coach, Jean-Marc Ithier, wants to turn their bad run in Cape Town around at Bloemfontein Celtic's expense on Sunday.

They meet in an Absa Premiership match at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town at 3.30pm.

Ithier said their preparations for the match were going accordingly and that they should upset Phunya Selesele.

"I'm working on the players' mentality after we lost against [Thanda] Royal Zulu at home in our last match," said Ithier yesterday.

"I think we can do much better than we did against Royal Zulu this time round."

The home side will be without the injured Sabastien Bax and Robert Nauseb.

Though Khabo Zondo will also be minus a number of key players for the encounter, the Celtic's mentor was still able to laugh off Ithier's threats.

"My team resembles a hospital ward but I think whoever is going to play on Sunday will deliver for us," Zondo said.

"As a coach I'm must come up with a plan in a situation like this. I enjoy playing the players who are not regarded as the best if those who are regarded as the best are injured. This means that I have confidence in all my players."

The Celtic players who are injured include John Maduka, Lebogang Mothibantwa, Petrus Mahlatsi, Ntokozo Sikhakhane, Cyrille Mubiala and Siphesihle Ngobese.
