The word is out, the finalists of the Car of the Year competition of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists were announced in Johannesburg last week.
The yearly event is the most important one on the calender of the motor industry in South Africa.
The nine finalists will undergo an extensive two-day test in Gerotek, Tshwane, in January next year.
In no particular order, the finalists are:
Mazda2 1,5 Individual
Mazda5 2,0 Active
Lexus LS460
Toyota Corolla 1,8 Exclusive
Fiat Bravo 1,4 T-Jet Sport
Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI
Nissan Qashqai 2,0 Acenta
Honda CR-V 2,2 CTDi
Freelander 2 TD4 HSE
