A boxing mismatch
Simon Ramoni's once fruitful career has reached bottom low that even Boxing SA does not worry much about who he fights.
This is a vastly experienced fighter from Toekomsrus who caused a stir in the UK in 2000 when he ended the career of Patrick Mullings at the Elephant and Castle Centre in the UK.
But Ramoni, 33, who was stripped that title in 2001 due inactivity, is today a shadow of his former self. Ramoni, with 27 wins (17 KOs) and 10 losses (three by KOs), will fight Bongani Mahlangu, who has seven wins (4 KOs) and a loss, on Friday.
Their fight will be part of the Branco Sports Production's dual WBC International title fights at the Carousel in Hammanskraal.
Mahlangu, 28, the former Sydney 2004 Olympian who is last year's champion in the Baby Champs, could cause further harm to already damaged Ramoni.
Meanwhile Malcolm Klassen fights Pablo Ernesto Oliveto over 10-rounds while Phumzile Matyhila's WBC International junior flyweight title will be on line against Alex Aroy in the main supporting fight.
Vus'Umuzi Malinga defends the WBC International bantamweight belt against Sergio Victor Caruso in the main attraction.
