South Africa is forecast to sell 617500 vehicles this year, 29056 fewer than the 646556 sold last year, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA said yesterday. The passenger car market is expected to drop by 47000 this year from last year's 426812. The market has been depressed as consumers feel the pinch of interest-rate hikes and stricter credit laws.
