People were rushing to work as usual. A taxi coming along Modjadji Drive came to a stop at robots, waiting for them to turn green. Taxi marshals were standing nearby.
They went straight for the taxi driver, forcing his vehicle off the road into Mayibuye Garage with all the passengers inside. They were accusing the driver of something.
A woman passenger started screaming, trying to point out that passengers had nothing to do with whatever indiscretion the taxi driver had committed. A marshal who was standing a distance away came charging and told the woman to shut up.
Now, logic would dictate that passengers were entitled to know what the problem was, taking into consideration that they had paid their hard-earned cash.
We need to stop blaming a lack of education for our irrational behaviour. After all, we all have common sense. Common sense would also tell you that the taxi marshals know every taxi driver on that route. The best thing to do would have been to take down the driver's details and deal with him later to avoid inconveniencing commuters.
