Teachers, like all other employees, expect to be paid by their bosses at the end of the month for services rendered.

This, however, does not seem to be the case for thirty-five temporary teachers at Mopani in Limpopo. They have not been paid their salaries since August this year.

An Education Department spokesman has now promised that the teachers will be paid at the end of this month after we exposed their plight last week.

These teachers should be lauded for their continued commitment to serve despite their frustration.

The Education Department must move swiftly to probe this anomalous situation and take appropriate action against the culprits.
