They might be in an unenviable position on the Absa Premiership log, but Jomo Cosmos are a team that opponents cannot afford to underestimate for any reason.

Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns are well aware of Cosmos' potential, and they have promised not to disregard them this afternoon.

They meet in a rescheduled league fixture at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria.

The two teams met at the same venue on Friday but the match was called off by referee Daniel Bennett minutes into the second half because of a water-logged pitch. The two teams were tied at 0-0 when the match was abandoned.

Daniel Mudau, Sundowns' publicist, told Sowetan yesterday tickets for the abandoned match were still valid for today's encounter.

He also urged their supporters to come in throngs to spur the players on.

"It is not going to be an easy match but we will try hard to give a good account of ourselves against Cosmos," Mudau said.

But he said he was encouraged by the fact that Surprise Moriri was available for selection for the match.

Andrew Rabutla, Ezenkosi manager, said they would give the champions the respect they deserve.

"Sundowns are the champions and we respect them for what they have achieved in the game," Rabutla said. "But I'm happy with the way we played against them on Friday and I think anything can happen if we can maintain the standard tomorrow [today]."

Sundowns' defence will have to carefully police Anthony Laffor who is capable of scoring crucial goals for Cosmos.

Kickoff is at 4pm.
