Controversial socialite, singer and actress Khanyisile Mbau has finally released her album.

In June this year, Mbau surprised many when she clinched a R2million recording deal with EMI/CCP. This received mixed reactions from fans and foes alike. She has been hailed as a crowd- puller and is popular with promoters. But some critics claim she can't sing.

Not so long ago she was booed off the stage at the Soweto Beach Party, an event attended by more than 30000 people. Mbau later refuted that she was booed by the crowd.

Mbau's Afro-soul dance album, that was due on July 30, came out two days ago. The Afro-soul dance album, titled Khanyi Mbau, consists of 14 tracks.

A spirited Mbau told Sowetan yesterday that the album is inspired by her experiences and relationship with her husband.

"It's all about me and is inspired by me. It is about my life, my husband, pains and joys. It talks about how I felt when I had problems with my man."

In April, Mbau dumped her millionaire hubby, celebrity businessman Mandla Mthembu, after he assaulted her at their Sun City hotel suite at the Samas over allegations that she was having an affair.

Mthembu later accused her of being a gold-digger.

"I'm over the moon. Everything in my life is gong perfectly well. My relationship with my husband is perfect again and I'm looking forward to see how my album will do," said an excited Mbau yesterday.
