Football fever is catching on in Ghana as the country prepares to host the continent during the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

They had a test run with the week-long Four Nations event that started last weekend and ran until Thursday.

Countries involved in the tournament were the hosts, Togo, Benin and the United Arab Emirates and the games were played at the stadiums earmarked for the Confederation of African Football spectacle due to kick of in January next year.

The opening games saw entertaining football being dished out by the teams with Benin pipping the UAE 1-0 in the first game and the hosts brushing Togo aside by 2-0.

This spectacle is among the highlights on the African Soccer Television show that airs on SABC1 Sport's Laduma programme on Sunday at 2.30pm.

At the time of writing the finals were due to be played and will most probably feature in the next ASTV show.

Action from African Olympic qualifiers will also be shown.

South Africa's Bafana Bafana made amends for their recent poor form on Tuesday evening when they thumped Canada 2-0 in Durban after losing 1-0 to the Canadians' neighbours the United States on Saturday in Johannesburg. Tuesday's match is worth watching again.

There will also be the beach soccer Fifa World Cup Brazil 2007 to watch.
