Ex-lover lying about me

My boyfriend and I were together for two years. We had problems from the start. We fought a lot.

My boyfriend and I were together for two years. We had problems from the start. We fought a lot.

He often accused me of being unfaithful. He hated my friends, the way I dressed and wasn't comfortable with my family. There was always something wrong and it was always my fault.

Eventually I had enough and told him it was over. I didn't realise how bad the situation was until he left. It was awful being with someone and never knowing if he was going to lose his temper or be in a good mood.

He lives in my area and knows many of my friends. He is saying dreadful things about me. I feel as if I have to tell people my side of the story and often get the feeling that they don't believe me. I'm frustrated and angry. Please help me.

Frustrated Ex, Diepkloof

Look at the positive side. Aren't you lucky you got out of the relationship? He is obviously very insecure, unstable and immature.

Don't justify yourself to anybody and let it go. His lies will be found out.

Those who know and love you won't believe him and they are the ones who matter. When people tell you what he says, tell them politely that you are not interested.
