Defending champions the Springboks will go for broke to retain their IRB World Sevens Series title when they compete at the yearly competition in Dubai on November 30.

This was said yesterday by coach Paul Treu, who said his charges are eager to hoist the South Africa flag high once more.

"I am chuffed with the way preparations have gone in the past weeks in Newlands and everybody was cooperative.

"We have assembled a formidable squad that is determined to face stiff challenges from their international counterparts,'' said Treu.

Springbok Sevens Player of the Year, Mzwandile Stick, will make his Dubai debut.

Some of the players who received their first call-up to the national side include flanker Frankie Horn and wing Norman Nelson.

Treu believes the duo will add value because they were part of the triumphant SA Emerging Sevens team that successfully defended the Safari Sevens tournament crown in Kenya early this year.

Former captain Jonathan Mokuena and experienced players like Neil Powell and veteran Fabian Juries will also travel with the team.

The South Africans left for Dubai yesterday.

Full squad: Schalk van der Merwe, Jonathan Mokuena, Baldwin McBean, Mpho Mbiyozo, Frankie Horn, Vuyolwetu Zangqa, Renfred Dazel, Fabian Juries, Marthinus Mentz, Mzwandile Stick, Danwel Demas and Neil Powell.
