ANC presidential hopefuls or the top-six aspirants will know if they have made it when all the nine ANC provincial structures and both the ANC women and youth leagues officially decide about their leadership choices.

The ANC head office yesterday announced that all provinces and the leagues will hold nomination conferences or provincial general councils between today and Monday. The gatherings will consolidate nomination lists for the top six officials and 60 additional NEC members.

The nomination lists will be submitted to the electoral commission by Monday.

Those vying for the presidential position are President Thabo Mbeki, his deputy Jacob Zuma, Tokyo Sexwale, Cyril Ramaphosa Kgalema Motlanthe and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
