Amajita, the national Under-20 squad, will play two friendly matches against Swaziland in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, next month.

The friendly matches to sharpen the squad for the defence of the Cosafa Youth Championships.

The first leg of the friendly matches will takes place in Swaziland this Sunday and the return tie in Nelspruit on November 28.

Amajita leave for Swaziland on Thursday, to arrive two days before the match to acclimatise.

Serame Letsoaka, the U-20 coach, said they were eager to win the two friendlies to boost the morale of the players ahead of the yearly youth showpiece.

"It will not be an easy tournament in Nelspruit and we are doing everything to make ourselves ready as we are determined to defend our title," Letsoaka said before their first training session in Johannesburg yesterday.

South Africa won the event last year when they overcame a stubborn Zambia 2-1 in Mafikeng, which was Letsoaka's first assignment as Amajita coach.

To maintain continuity in the squad, Letsoaka has drafted in former U-17 players who took part in the African Youth Championships last year.

These players include Jackson Mabokgwane, Michael Nkambule, Tlou Molekwane and Thulani Lukhele.

Letsoaka believes his boys have achieved the character he has been looking for.

Amajita are in Group A, with Lesotho, Mauritius and Botswana.
