The World World Boxing Council (WBC) convention currently underway in Manila, Philippines, has handed big breaks to South African boxing after two of its fighters were mandated to contest for mandatory title eliminators.

They are WBC International lightweight champion Ali Funeka, who has been given the nod to challenge for the coveted WBC belt if he wins his elimination bout against Colombian veteran Antonio Pitalua or Philippines' bomber, Randy Suico.
