Durban was taken down memory lane on Saturday when Stimela recorded their live DVD at the Playhouse in celebration of 25 years of making music.

Stimela was founded by the legendary Ray Phiri and his five friends in the 1980s. Today, only three of its original members are left.

Now in their 50s, they showed even the youngest in the audience how to get down.

Group leader Phiri and Nana Coyote took the audience back to the 1980s by performing 25 songs for the DVD compilation, due out soon.

The group had the whole house, young and old, singing along to the old but familiar tunes such as Unfinished story.

The dazzling three-hour long performance left the audience begging for more.
