You may not have been born yet when the hip-gyrating John Travolta wreaked havoc with tender hearts.

It was the 70s, the music was provided by the evergreen Bee Gees and it was all captured in the box office movie, Saturday Night Fever.

Of course, if you are older, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Jacaranda 94.2, Big Concerts and NGM, in association with Richard Loring, will take you back in time to the dizzy era when everybody wore shiny black lumber jackets with the inscription Saturday Night Fever. Now you can relive the era or drool over the good times through the celebrated Broadway and West End Musical that will hit our shores in 2008.

It is based on the film starring Travolta as Tony Manero, a troubled youngster from Brooklyn whose weekends are dominated by visits to a local disco. Here, he is the king and he temporarily forgets his dead-end job, clashes with his unsupportive and squabbling parents, racial tensions and his gang of dead-beat friends.

It is the classic story of hope over tragedy with the electric combination of music and dance fused with a blistering soundtrack and some of musical theatre's most groundbreaking choreography.

The play is choreographed by Arlene Phillips.
