Long-distance love scares me

Two months ago, I met a man through an internet dating site. He is kind, loving, good-looking and sexy. He has a good job and is successful. He loves me, spoils me and is everything I have ever wanted in a man.

Two months ago, I met a man through an internet dating site. He is kind, loving, good-looking and sexy. He has a good job and is successful. He loves me, spoils me and is everything I have ever wanted in a man.

The only problem is that he lives in Mpumalanga and I live in Gauteng. He visits every second weekend. He works every alternate weekend. We are going to spend the festive holiday season together.

The thing is that I just can't get enough of him and am terrified that the distance between us will make him look elsewhere for love and for sex. I know he is too crazy about me right now to look at anyone else, but as time goes on, he may want more. We both have good jobs so neither is in the position to move provinces at this stage.

Any suggestions?

Put on the brakes. Things are wonderful and your heart is singing, but you don't really know this man yet and you don't know if it is love or lust.

Continue the way you are and take the time you have together to get to know him. Have you met his family and friends? Have you seen his home? Have you met his colleagues? Have you spent more than just a weekend with him to see if you two can get on for longer? Is he tidy? Does he always put the toilet lid down or just when he visits and wants to impress you? Will he spoil you when you have more than just two nights together?

Things are always wonderful in the beginning. Love takes time to grow. Falling in love means falling in love with everything about the person, not who you want him to be, or who you think he is from first impressions. Or he with you.

Don't even think of moving until you have spent much, much more time together. The time you spend together over the festive season will give you a much better idea of who you are opening your heart to. Give it at least a year before you make any big decisions. If he is still this wonderful, then you can talk about moving. Enjoy what you have for now.
