Boebie "Mzala" Solomons has parted ways with Black Leopards - at least for now.
Solomons will be at Mecca in Saudi Arabia for five weeks for the yearly Muslim pilgrimage.
This means that Lidoda Duvha will be without the coach in their remaining six matches before the Africa Cup of Nations break in January.
Lidoda Duvha will face defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Thanda Royal Zulu, Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits on the road and host Jomo Cosmos.
Ramadhan Nsanzurwimo, the side's assistant coach, will call the shots in Solomons' absence.
The Burundian mentor will be assisted by goalkeeper coach Joel Masutha.
"I'm leaving the team in capable hands and I don't think they will struggle in my absence," said Solomons, who leaves for Saudi Arabia tomorrow.
"The management of the team long knew about this arrangement. I informed them before we signed the contract. I will be attending our Islamic pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia."
Said Nsanzurwimo: "We will try hard and ensure that we do well in the absence of the head coach. It is just a matter of time before we start winning consistently. Watch us."
Tshifhiwa "Chief" Thidiela, Leopards' spokesman, confirmed that Solomons informed them about the arrangement before they clinched a deal with him.
Leopards are playing entertaining football but their problem is scoring goals.
"Yes, it is disappointing that we lose matches we should have easily won because we fail to convert our chances," Thidiela said.
"But I can assure our supporters that our technical staff are working hard to sharpen the strikers at training and it is just a matter of time before we start winning matches consistently."
