Wounded Orlando Pirates are looking beyond their semifinal against Free State Stars and are hoping to meet SuperSport United in the Moqhaka Charity Cup final at Griffons Rugby Stadium in Welkom on Sunday.

Pirates' communications manager Mickey Modisane yesterday said they wanted to hit back at Matsatsantsa a Pitori for the 3-1 humiliation they gave them in the league game on Wednesday.

"We salute them for collecting maximum points on Wednesday but this time around it is our turn. We're preparing to beat them and collect the whopping R1 million first prize to appease our supporters,'' said Modisane.

But Pirates first have the mammoth task of brushing Stars aside in the semifinal at 9am in order to book a berth in the final.

In the second final, United take on Bloemfontein Celtic in a game that can go either way at 11am, with the final at 4pm.

While everybody will be hungry for the R1 million, Celtic's Khabo Zondo said they will use this showdown as a platform to get good combinations going and build a future team.

The one-day competition, which was initially scheduled for Kroonstad, was shifted to Welkom because the venue was too small.

The winners will pocket R1 million and the runners-up collect R500 000, while the two remaining teams will get R250000 each.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper outlets at R40 for the grandstand, R30 for the open stand and R10 for juveniles.

No tickets will be sold at the stadium.
