The Limpopo department of health is investigating a fist-fight between two women pharmacists that took place a week ago at the Maphutha-Malatji Hospital at Namakgale, near Phalaborwa.
Patients waiting for medication watched in disbelief as the pharmacists exchanged blows. The fight allegedly started when Rachel Keyter asked Eveline Khosa to sign for drugs and other bottled medication for patients.
"But Khosa refused and went to the waiting room," said a source at the hospital.
"Keyter followed Khosa and they exchanged insults and blows."
The fight was stopped by senior hospital officials.
"The two were reprimanded by the officials who requested them to make peace by holding hands," added the source.
Limpopo health spokesman, Phuti Seloba, yesterday said they were still investigating.
