I would like to thank Lucky Mazibuko for this week's column.

Let us return to the eighties, when Soweto was "burning".

Very few men of the cloth said much, if anything, about how evil apartheid was. The bold ones like the Reverend Frank Chikane and Archbishop Desmond Tutu were viewed as having lost the true gospel by some people.

Mazibuko rightfully calls those people who did not speak out "shameless cowards".

It is the church's duty to bring back morality to society. These shameless cowards will talk about the "end of days", while they leisure in the comfort of their homes. Or they simply con people into giving more money to the church. That is nonsense.

Yes, we may be living in the last of days, but the church cannot just watch, while society crumbles.

We need proper religious leaders who stand up and speak out on the decay in our society. If not, God will punish us.

Our society is in need of reform, which can only come from God. It is time for religious leaders to take a stand in making sure that people come to the "knowledge of the truth".

I salute Musa Sono, we need bold men like him.
