Khutsong's matrics are back home after achieving the impossible - they wrote their final examinations.

Khutsong's matrics are back home after achieving the impossible - they wrote their final examinations.

Four months ago no one would have thought that possible as marauding bands of high school kids swept through the township, doing all they could to make the region ungovernable.

At the instigation of radical teachers they had become the shock troops in the battle to restore the area to Gauteng from North West.

Many matric students had not received a single day's schooling this year. So all credit to North West's education department, which set up a sheltered learning environment for them in Taung, 300km away from their troubled home town.

We await their results with keen interest.
