The final of the Telkom Knockout between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns is not being taken to the people this time around, after previous high-profile finals were staged in other provinces.

Loftus Versfeld stadium emerged as the first and only choice for the mouth-watering encounter on Saturday, December 1.

Andrew Dipela, the PSL's general manager: football, yesterday said both teams and the sponsors were unanimous in their choice of the Tshwane venue.

"No other venue was considered during the brief deliberations," he said.

Sundowns was represented by chief executive Afzhal Khan while Amakhosi had team manager Bobby Motaung and brand manager Dara Carroll in their corner.

Gauteng soccer lovers will be looking forward to this game on their doorstep. The Pretoria venue is a home ground for both teams. - Sello Rabothata
