Home blues for Stars

Aaron "Squash" Shongwe, coach of Mpumalanga Vodacom League side Barberton City Stars, lambasted his side after they dropped more points at home with a 2-all draw against FC Spurs at Emjindini Stadium on Saturday.

"We have a good record in away games and when we play at home we drop points unnecessary," said a fuming Shongwe.

"I don't know whether the players relax when they play at home, thinking there is no pressure or what.

"If it is that, they need to change their attitude and take each game seriously, even if it's at home or not. However, the technical staff are working hard."

Stars have dropped seven points in three successive home games. They drew 1-1 against ELB Movers and lost 1-0 to Batau Killers before Saturday's draw with Spurs.

"If we want to win the league we need to redeem ourselves and start collecting points, whether it is at home or not," said Shongwe.
