The Sony Fevapitch five-a-side soccer tournament moves to Durban on November 24 and 25.

The Sony Fevapitch five-a-side soccer tournament moves to Durban on November 24 and 25.

Thirty-two teams will take part in the event to be held at the Pavilion Site, at the corner of Old Fort Road and Marine Parade.

The round robin first two rounds of the knockout competition will take place on November 24. The quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be played the next day.

Kick-off on both days will be at 9am.

Organisers announced that teams reaching the semifinals will qualify for the national finals at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton on November 27 and 28.

Deejays Tirra, Sox and Chippa will entertain those attending.

Soccer greats like Mark Fish, Doctor Khumalo, Steve Crowley, Edward Motale, Neil Tovey, Marc Batchelor, David Nyathi and Bashin Mahlangu will also play a soccer game against the local media and 2010 Local Organising Committee.

Participants in the Fevapitch tournaments are former professional players, or players who have other careers and therefore do not have the time to compete at the highest level of the sport.

The Fevapitch five-a-side tournament will become a yearly event until 2010. - Sowetan
