The fansites joined forces as Prince Fans United and hit back at the threat of legal papers, vowing to fight the case on behalf of the superstar's fans worldwide.
But Prince has now registered the similar web domain name of PrinceFansUnited.com, where he's posted a new track PFUnk, a reference to both the name of the fans' protest group and George Clinton's P-Funk bands Parliament and Funkadelic.
The new song contains the lyrics: The only reason you say my name / Is to get your 15 seconds of fame / Nobody's even sure what you do / I don't care what people may say / I ain't gonna let it ruin my day. - Wenn
