The Limpopo department of health and social development yesterday acted swiftly to allay fears of an outbreak of malaria in the province.

This follows reports of the mosquito-borne disease attacking people at an alarming rate in the Vhembe and Mopani.

Spokesman Phuti Seloba said yesterday, "There are measures in place to deal with situations in those areas."
