More than 100 families were left out in the cold after being evicted from a plot in South Hills, south of Johannesburg.

They claim to have lived on the farm for more than 10 years. The families were evicted by the owner and security guards while the police watched.

Ward councillor Beverley Turck promised to find them temporary accommodation. The plot owner said he gave them notice to move more than two years ago.
