One of the two Soweto sisters who have accused the Department of Home Affairs of ruining their lives has been given a new ID number.
Department spokesman Mantshele Tau said Thuli Nkosi, 27, had shared her name, surname and ID number with someone in KwaZulu-Natal.
Thuli lost her ID in 2004 and has been battling to get a new one.
Tau said the department was still investigating how Thuli's sister Thembi, 29, was fraudulently married.
Thembi discovered three weeks ago that she was married to a George Chukwekere.
