Santos chief executive Edries Burton believes his side will convert pressure into goals in their Absa Premiership game against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Athlone tonight at 7.30.

Though they will be without Sebastian Bax, their stalwart midfielder who was sent off against Black Leopards last weekend, Burton is confident they will turn the corner against the star-studded Brazilians.

"The players are aware of the danger the club finds itself in. They have vowed to throw everything into the game this time. Playing at home, we have to register a win," Burton said. "We're playing Sundowns, the defending champions, but they are not going to intimidate us in our domain."

Sundowns spokesman Daniel Mudau said they were going to be cautious against Santos.

"Our players are motivated by the win against Orlando Pirates. They are also looking at the league title and are determined to defend it," Mudau said. "But some windy conditions expected down there could make play difficult for us.

"We're going down there to play, and to at least come back with a point because the side we're playing is very tricky."

Santos' attack will be spearheaded by Erwin Isaacs, assisted by Eleazar Rodgers, Ryan Chapman and Koena Mathopa.

The Brazilians will be without Lerato Chabangu after the striker collected a third booking at the weekend. But Josta Dladla, Benson Mhlongo and Godfrey Sapula can be just as lethal.
