South African Football Players Union was awarded R135000 at the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) for players' disputes.

Cappy Matutoane, Safpu national organiser, described it as a major victory for the players.

"The amount is for breach of contract, unpaid salaries and signing-on fees for David Fortuin against Jomo Cosmos; Musa Sishi, Lesley Langa and Maome Jerome against Durban Stars.

"As the union we are very happy that the matter has been resolved."

Stars and Jomo Cosmos were given 30 days to pay the players, failing which the chief executive of the PSL will deduct the money from their monthly grants, Matutoane said. - Sowetan
