What are people of Matatiele doing?

I note the emotional, but factless argument by Tseliso Likhethe on the Matatiele issue, and I respect his opinion.

I note the emotional, but factless argument by Tseliso Likhethe on the Matatiele issue, and I respect his opinion.

There is one issue that bothers residents of this area - whether any government or administration would be able to bring growth and development to the area.

If we argue about corruption and what we, in our personal capacities want, it won't bring any development or progress.

Matatiele has always been part of the Cape, but was grabbed by the Natal administration to get the fertile pockets of land for white farmers. African people still occupy the barren lands in the area.

It is pointless to argue about corruption because the fact is there will always be counter allegations.

The fact is corruption is destroying every facet of our society. It is not unique to South Africa, and it cannot be the reason not to incorporate the town into a particular province.

The challenge is how we deal with this monster. As a starting point let us address the issue of development, create opportunities for jobs, train the young people in handy skills and attract skilled people to assist.

Is the town developing to cater for the growing population?

Those working outside of Matatiele should begin to ask how they too can contribute to the development of the area.
