I think that a World Cup is just that, whether soccer, rugby or cricket. When countries from different continents meet for a prestigious prize in a worldwide contest, it is huge. It's a World Cup.

I think that a World Cup is just that, whether soccer, rugby or cricket. When countries from different continents meet for a prestigious prize in a worldwide contest, it is huge. It's a World Cup.

Of course soccer is huge in Europe, Africa and South America, but not in North America. So football is a global sport, loved and watched by most.

The reason I think South Africans compare our soccer national team with the rugby national team is quite simple. In twelve years South African Rugby claimed the Willam Webb Ellis trophy, and the recent victory was managed by a South African.

He took charge four years ago, and implemented his own vision, players and his goal was to prepare for and win the World Cup.
